Why buy local? LOCALLY GROWN FOOD TASTES BETTER!!
_
Food grown in your own community was probably picked within the past day or two. It's crisp, sweet and loaded with flavor. Several studies have shown that the average distance food travels from farm to plate is 1,500 miles. In a week-long (or more) delay from harvest to dinner table, sugars turn to starches, plant cells shrink, and produce loses its vitality.

love pomegrantes - first ones just arrived on the east coast but they don't look like your picture - maybe in a couple of weeks... discovered last year that you can keep them in the fridge for several months.

Is that squash soup? Or pumpkin? It looks sooo good! And I agree about locally grown food tasting better - I wish it were more plentiful here where I live!
