Friday's Photos

__
When I saw the 2003 comedy “Something's Gotta Give” I enjoyed the movie, but was completely taken with the house Diane Keaton's character lived in. Apparently I was not the only one. Here is an excerpt from an article in The Washington Post.
_
For lots of moviegoers, the most memorable role (in the film Somethings Gotta Give) was played by the house, especially its big, light-filled kitchen. The airy, shingled Hamptons beach house is walled with windows and built-in bookcases. The rooms are open, the furniture slipcovered and the walls and fabrics awash in creamy blues, whites and tans. The kitchen gleams with white glass-front cabinets, vintage hardware, a commercial-style range and dark soapstone counters. With a backdrop like that, who cares if Keaton and Nicholson find midlife love?
_
I couldn't agree more. Some of these photos are from the film and some are attempts at recreating those beautiful rooms.

I absolutely love the movie. I always try to pause it and look around the house. I adore the house and the decor. I have chosen a chocolate type granite for my new house...but really struggled with whether or not to have honed black granite. Thanks for the beautiful post.
Love, cousin Sasha

Wow love it. I can't tell which is the movie or the recreation. What a dream house. I would live there. My colors are earthy but I now dream of a creamy white kitchen.

Beautiful home and I especially love the kitchen with that great storage under the island and the reading corner.

Wonderful and a pleasure to browse.

oh yeah - i've been loving this house f.o.r.e.v.e.r and funny, i was just talking to a guy friend about it - first the movie but then immediately about the decor.

i also love the outside of the house in the the movie what lies beneath -

love the east coast coastal style - the colors - grays, whites, blues - instantly calms me. so moody.

love it way better than west coast coastal.

I love everything about the movie "What Lies Beneath" -- set decoration -- special effects -- etc. I am going to feature the house in an upcoming post as well.
