What's In Season - September (Slow Food Movement)

Slow Food is an idea, a way of living and a way of eating. It is a global, grassroots movement with thousands of members around the world that links the pleasure of food with a commitment to community and the environment.

Raising public awareness, improving access and encouraging the enjoyment of foods that are local, seasonal and sustainably grown.

Caring for the land and protecting biodiversity for today’s communities and future generations.

We all desperately needs this movement, though we have nothing of such over here..or in Asia generally. Most of the fruits you mentioned are not grown here or but we can buy from certain supermarkets at an extremely high price. Happy week :D

I enjoy reading your monthly about the seasonal fruits and vegetables. Reading your latest one inspired me to write about the slow food movement. I will start tomorrow by a recollection of last weekend event in SFO. It looks like it was a success.
