Staying on the subject of hair - I really love when I see a women with beautiful natural hair of gray or more aptly - white, silver, pewter and every shade in between. My mother is one of those women and she receives endless compliments (I'm not exaggerating) and is even regularly asked if she dyes it that color. But I'm not just talking about women of a certain age going natural I see lots of women over forty with this attention grabbing hair. With the availability of new treatments and conditioners made to enhance gray hairs color and conditioners, this once-maligned hair hue has became a new style option not only just for men. Gray hair can be dramatic, elegant and yes - beautiful!!

YES! I decided about two years ago to quit the nonsense of trying to dye my hair. My daughter was the first to applaud my new "highlights". I love it too. My favorite silver haired beauty is Emmylou Harris. Wow, her hair is gorgeous. And I bet your mom's is too!

I love longer silver hair. I hope I get the same pretty color my grandmother has. Right now I have just enough to make my brown hair look dull. On my way...

Hey Sabina - thanks for stopping by my blog. I love this post. I find the whole thing very intriguing and have been looking for my next good read. Do you mind if I steal your inspiration and check out Anne Kreamer's book? It looks like it speaks to where I am at in my life at the moment.

Sorry, me again. I've just read your "intro". It leaves me speechless. I know you probably did what you felt must be done at the time but I have the utmost admiration for you. I spent ten years with my children's father while he battled a drug addiction. He has come out the other end and has survived although we are no longer together. I guess it just touched me to read of someone else who's life has had such a huge impact due to the devastation of addiction.

Hi Sabina, I am really appreciate this entry and your blog! I am struggling with the decision about whether or not to continue colouring my hair. Your post is so refreshing in a world that encourages us to believe youth is the answer to everything. I really like your photos, especially of Mother's Day.:) Thanks for visiting my blog because it led me back to yours!

What, no BLUE? My grama Mary always dyed her gorgeous grays a lovely blue tint. Lord, how times have changed. Love the post Sabina!

Wow... these pics make me wish my hair color looked that good! Such a striking color, I've always hoped for a streak like Ann Bancroft in Mrs. Robinson.

Hi,I think on the right person it can look great!!! I am a color specialist so I get to see the whole spectrum.I have had a lot of women that went gray come back to me to color it again. In the end it is a personal choice and it is great to see women feel confident to leave it natural!!!!
