This time of year always puts me in the mood for buying some new clothes and undergarments. Now that the kids are back in school and all their drawers, and desks are packed full -- it's time for me!!

With that in mind --what about a subject that all women deal with -- finding the right bra or rather fitting the right bra. You can take take Oprah's advice and have an expert do a measurement for you at Nordstrom (which I finally did) or calculate it yourself using the link below. Either way this should be done before you go to look for a new bra.

It seems that most of us, 8 out of 10, are wearing the wrong bra size. Which translates to uncomfortable fits - which can cause fits. I am happy that this ordeal is over for me, and bra shopping is so much easier. I can now concentrate on finding something I love -- that suits my needs with no guesswork - tugging, or pulling.

I found this information via Real Simple. They had some excellent brand suggestions. I actually purchased the first bra shown (and matching knickers), at Bloomingdales, and absolutely love it!! Although you might have to pay a little more for a good bra, it's definitely worth every penny!!

This is a great post!! My husband always jokes about sending me to Poopie Couture (I can't seem to find her online). We saw a tv show once about how her custom bras can cost millions but are the perfect fit. Maybe if I win the lottery :)
Very interesting. I have lots of problem buying them, I can only wear those with the clips/hooks in the front and we hardly have any here.
Happy shopping :D
I recently went bra shopping and what a tough time I had (being a 34 D, sometimes 36 D - depends on the make). I wish I had the info in your post then! I did found two great bras that fit wonderfully, give me a good shape and are comfortable. One was a minimizer, the other was not. Good bra tip - wear your bras on the middle OR widest end hooks at first, then go smaller as they "stretch." If you start out on the smaller/tighter notches, you have nowhere to go if they stretch a little with wear. I always hook in the middle and that seems to stay there until I'm done with the bra.
This is the best post - so much information - so well presented!!
Have a great 3 day weekend Sabina!!

I have been getting measured for a few years now, best thing I ever did. I live near Oxford (England) and go to Bravissimo..yes the bras are dearer, but worth every penny. You have to make an appointment if you wish to me fitted properly, and it doesn;t matter how long it takes, the assistant is yours til your sorted!
