My Pledge

_
___
_
The test of courage comes when we are in the minority. The test of tolerance comes when we are in the majority.
_
I have always cared very deeply about those less fortunate or disenfranchised by way of their race, status, age or sexual orientation. With that in mind - my pledge is to work with Straight for Equality and any organization that will help further the rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered (LGBT) individuals. Some of the exact same narrow-minded arguments that were used to keep blacks and others in a lesser status - not many years back - are now being used again against this (larger than you know) group of people. This world will be a much better place when there is equality for all.

Good for you! I'm so inspired and encouraged by everyone's pledges - they're as diverse as the people making them!

I have a gay sister AND a gay brother, so this is a cause I have great interest in. I wish I could be there in New York to be part of it. Thanks for letting us know about this.

Hi Sabina,
As a gay man, I thank and appreciate your pledge to support the fight for equal rights for all. I believe its straight voices like yours that will have a greater impact in educating the public about the inequalities against the LGBT community. Your post assures me that there are people out there that still care. Thanks again.
xoxo
